From early candlesticks and oil lamps to 19th-century chandeliers, wall lights and decorative table lamps, antique lighting requires a careful balance between preservation and modern electrical safety.

Each piece is assessed individually in our Lincolnshire workshop, with restoration undertaken sympathetically to retain original surfaces, patina and character wherever possible.

Where rewiring is required, we use quality British components and carefully considered methods to ensure the finished piece can be safely enjoyed in the modern home without compromising its historic integrity.

Lighting Restoration FAQ

How long does a restoration take?

Timescales vary depending on the condition and complexity of the piece. Most restoration and rewiring work is completed within 2–4 weeks following assessment. We will advise you of the expected timescale before work begins.

Will the original finish be lost?

No. Our approach is conservation-led, retaining original finishes, patina and signs of age wherever possible. Cleaning and restoration are undertaken sympathetically, with the aim of preserving the character and integrity of each piece rather than making it appear new.

Do you offer lampshades and lighting conversions?

Yes. Alongside restoration and rewiring, we offer handmade lampshades and can sympathetically convert suitable antique objects and period lighting for modern electrical use. Each conversion is considered individually to ensure it complements the original piece.

Can you ship restored pieces internationally?

Yes. We work with clients in the UK and internationally. Once restoration is complete, pieces can be carefully packed and shipped worldwide using an appropriate insured service.
