19th Century French Gilt Bronze Satyr Candlestick After Corneille Van Cleve (1647-1732)
The candlestick formed as a Satyr seated on a dog and holding a cornucopia terminating in the candle sconce, raised on a heavy pierced rococo base. The design of this candlestick is a variant on a design by the French baroque sculptor Corneille Van Clève.
