An authentic Victorian stained glass hall lantern, dating from the late 19th century, featuring a beautifully aged brass frame with intricate pierced and crenellated detailing. This exquisite hanging lantern showcases vibrant multicoloured leaded stained glass panels, each piece carefully set into the decorative frame.
Originally designed to house an oil lamp, this lantern now includes easy access via a hinged door for a modern light bulb, blending historic charm with everyday practicality. All glass panels are intact, and the brass has developed a rich, natural patina over time—lightly cleaned to preserve its antique character.

This original Victorian stained glass hall lantern is in very good antique condition. All stained glass panels are intact and securely set, with no cracks or losses. The brass frame has developed a rich, aged patina, which has been lightly cleaned to preserve its historic character.
The lantern has been fully renovated and professionally rewired to current UK electrical standards, making it safe and ready for modern use. All components—including the bulb holder and wiring—have been replaced with high-quality, British-made fittings that complement the original design while ensuring reliability and safety.
The door opens smoothly to allow easy access for bulb changes. Ready to hang and enjoy, this lantern combines authentic 19th-century craftsmanship with contemporary functionality.

Cleaning, Polishing & Restoration
All our collections have been through our workshop and where possible, we always try to maintain the original finish preserving the patina and colour, some items are sympathetically restored and this is done by our own skilled craftsmen using only traditional methods
We complete a full assessment, re-wire and PAT inspection on all lighting. The full assessment can include general upkeep and updating – Fitting new lamp holders, deep cleaning, minor repairs and replacement of fragile metal pins are all part of our service. Rewiring includes a standard rewire to conform with UK electrical regulations to an adaptation or conversion
