An exquisite mid-century Hans Kögl 5-arm chandelier, a quintessential example of 1970s Hollywood Regency glamour. This piece features a sculptural "bouquet" of hand-formed roses and sweeping wheat sheaves, meticulously crafted from gilt metal. Each of the five arms terminates in a delicate floral-style bobeche, creating an organic, botanical silhouette that appears to "grow" from the ceiling.
This chandelier has been professionally regilded in a luxurious bronze finish, providing a deep, muted luster that complements both period and contemporary interiors. Unlike modern reproductions, the hand-hammered details on the leaves and petals give this piece a distinctively artisanal, high-end feel.
Designer: Hans Kögl
Period: 1970–1979
The Austrian designer Hans Kögl became a dominant force in European decorative lighting during the 1970s. His workshop specialized in nature-inspired fixtures that defined the high-glamour look of the era. This "Rose and Wheat" design—symbols of love and prosperity—is one of his most celebrated, blending the romanticism of the Italian "Florentine" style with the structural precision of mid-century European manufacturing.
Excellent Restored Condition. The chandelier has been fully disassembled and regilded with a bronze finish. It is structurally sound with no missing petals or bent wheat ears. The electrical components are entirely new, modern, and have passed UK safety (PAT) testing for immediate installation.
