£2,600.00
An impressive and rare early 20th-century pendant light, exhibiting the bold architectural form and mixed-metal aesthetic of the British Arts & Crafts movement. This substantial piece was likely commissioned for a significant hall, stairwell, or ecclesiastical interior.
The light features:
Mixed-Metal Construction: Expertly crafted in brass and copper, the fixture displays a rich, deep original patina. The contrast between the two metals highlights the hand-worked joints and structural integrity favored by the movement.
Original Vaseline Glass: The large globe is in exceptional condition, containing trace amounts of uranium to produce its celebrated yellow-green luminosity. The presence of manufacturing seeds and bubbles confirms its hand-made origin (c. 1905–1925).
Atmospheric Illumination: When lit, the Vaseline glass emits a soft, warm glow that creates an incomparable period atmosphere, specifically designed to soften the "harshness" of early electrical lighting.

A particularly fine and honest example, distinguished by its scale, original mixed-metal construction, and exceptional vaseline globe. The presence of manufacturing seeds within the glass confirms its period origin and adds to its character. Pieces of this quality and completeness are increasingly difficult to source and display exceptionally well in both period and contemporary interiors.
In very good original condition, consistent with age and use.
The brass and copper retain their original surfaces with attractive patina, light surface wear, and gentle toning throughout. No evidence of later polishing or restoration.
The vaseline globe is original and in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or repairs. Small seed inclusions and manufacturing bubbles are present, entirely consistent with early 20th-century production and confirming originality.
