The head has been historically reattached following a break during its working life, secured with a period screw fixing. This repair is stable and forms part of the object’s history and narrative.
The original underside fittings (keel/guides) have been removed, allowing the piece to sit flat and securely on a level surface for interior display.
This piece now functions purely as a decorative folk art object, retaining all the charm of its working past.
