Arita Ware is a distinguished type of Japanese porcelain first produced in the town of Arita, on the island of Kyushu, during the early seventeenth century. Celebrated for its exceptional quality, fine white porcelain body and beautifully hand-painted decoration, Arita Ware often features cobalt blue, iron red and gilt ornament inspired by nature and traditional Japanese motifs. Exported extensively to Europe through the Dutch East India Company, it had a profound influence on European porcelain production and remains one of Japan\'s most respected ceramic traditions.
