A Hygrometer is an instrument used to measure the moisture content, or relative humidity, of the air. Antique hygrometers were often incorporated into scientific instruments, weather stations and barometers, crafted in brass, mahogany or rosewood with finely engraved scales. They remain important to collectors of scientific antiques and continue to be used for monitoring environmental conditions in museums, galleries and historic interiors.
