A Hanging Lamp is a light fixture suspended from the ceiling by a chain, rod or cord. Antique hanging lamps encompass a wide variety of designs, including oil lamps, gas lamps, lanterns and early electric fittings, many of which have since been sympathetically converted for modern electrical use while preserving their historic character.
