Discover an Italian gilt metal flush mount ceiling light by Banci Firenze, featuring sculptural oak and acanthus foliage in an elegant Hollywood Regency design.
An impressive Italian Hollywood Regency gilt metal flush mount ceiling light by Banci Firenze, featuring an exuberant arrangement of sculptural oak and acanthus-inspired foliage radiating from a central circular framework. Its richly layered botanical decoration and warm gilded finish create a striking architectural statement, combining Italian decorative craftsmanship with the glamour of twentieth-century Hollywood Regency design.
The light is constructed around a substantial circular metal frame, from which numerous individually shaped leaves extend outwards in a dramatic sunburst formation. Broad, deeply lobed oak leaves alternate with narrower, intricately pierced foliage, creating a beautifully textured composition with remarkable depth and movement.
At the centre, a raised decorative canopy is surrounded by overlapping leaves, giving the fitting an almost floral appearance. The individual elements are arranged at varying angles, allowing light to interact with the gilded surfaces and emphasise the detailed modelling of the foliage.
The design incorporates multiple outward-facing lamp holders discreetly positioned amongst the leaves, allowing the decorative framework to remain the dominant visual feature. When illuminated, the light would create an attractive interplay of illumination and shadow across the surrounding ceiling.
The warm gilt finish displays subtle variations in tone, enhancing the relief and intricate detailing of the metalwork. Its generous proportions and elaborate botanical decoration make it particularly suitable for a country house entrance hall, drawing room, hallway or interior where a statement ceiling fitting is desired without the extended drop of a chandelier.
The ceiling light displays an attractive aged gilt finish, with surface variations, minor marks and areas of wear consistent with age and previous use.
The individually formed leaves retain their intricate detailing and layered appearance. As with decorative vintage metalwork, slight variations in the positioning and finish of the foliage contribute to the character of the piece.
A highly decorative Italian gilt metal ceiling light, combining sculptural botanical detailing, Hollywood Regency elegance and the distinctive craftsmanship associated with Banci Firenze.
