Arts Metalwork

Arts metalwork encompasses decorative and functional objects crafted from metals such as brass, bronze, copper, iron, pewter and silver. From the Medieval period through to the Arts & Crafts Movement and Art Nouveau, skilled metalworkers produced lighting, candlesticks, fire grates, clocks, furniture mounts and ornamental objects using techniques including casting, forging, repoussé, chasing and engraving. Antique metalwork is valued for its craftsmanship, durability and artistic detail.
