Bagues Style refers to decorative lighting and furniture inspired by the celebrated French design house Maison Baguès, founded in Paris during the nineteenth century. Known for combining finely crafted metalwork with crystal, glass, gilt finishes and naturalistic motifs such as bamboo, palm trees and foliage, Bagues-style pieces became particularly fashionable during the twentieth century. Original Maison Baguès pieces are highly collectable, while the term is also used to describe furniture and lighting produced in a similar elegant French style.
