A Banquet Lamp is an elegant oil lamp popular during the Victorian period, distinguished by its tall, slender column supporting a glass oil reservoir positioned above the burner. Designed to provide extended illumination for dining and entertaining, banquet lamps were often crafted from brass, bronze, porcelain or silver plate with decorative etched or hand-painted glass reservoirs. Many surviving examples have since been sympathetically converted for electricity while retaining their original decorative character.
