A Barograph is a scientific instrument that continuously records atmospheric pressure over time using a pen attached to a rotating drum covered with graph paper. Developed during the nineteenth century, barographs were widely used by meteorologists, mariners and country estates to monitor changing weather conditions. Antique examples are typically housed beneath glazed domes with polished brass mechanisms and finely crafted wooden bases, making them highly collectable decorative instruments.
