A Card Table is a folding or hinged table originally designed for playing cards and other parlour games. Particularly fashionable during the Georgian, Regency and Victorian periods, card tables often feature baize-lined playing surfaces concealed beneath beautifully figured timber tops. Fine examples display elegant veneers, inlay, carved legs and exceptional cabinetmaking, making them equally desirable as occasional tables.
