A Chamber Pot is a portable ceramic or metal vessel traditionally used as a toilet before the widespread installation of indoor plumbing. Commonly found in bedrooms from the seventeenth through to the early twentieth century, chamber pots were produced in porcelain, earthenware, stoneware and enamelled metal, often decorated with transfer prints or hand-painted designs. Today they are valued as fascinating reminders of domestic history and Victorian life.
