Chestnut is a durable hardwood traditionally used in furniture making, architectural joinery and rural buildings due to its natural resistance to decay. Characterised by its warm golden-brown colour and attractive grain, chestnut has been used for centuries in country furniture, beams, panelling and storage chests. Antique chestnut furniture is appreciated for its strength, rustic charm and longevity.
