A Column Pedestal is a freestanding architectural support designed in the form of a classical column, used to elevate sculptures, urns, busts or decorative planters. Inspired by the architecture of Ancient Greece and Rome, column pedestals commonly feature fluted shafts, moulded bases and capitals in the Doric, Ionic or Corinthian orders. Produced in marble, stone, cast iron, cast stone or wood, antique column pedestals remain highly sought after for displaying works of art and adding architectural grandeur to both interiors and gardens.
