A Compass is a navigational instrument used to determine direction by aligning a magnetised needle with the Earth\'s magnetic field. Essential to sailors, explorers, surveyors and military officers for centuries, antique compasses were commonly housed in brass, mahogany or leather cases and often formed part of travelling or scientific instrument sets. Today they are highly sought after for their historical importance, craftsmanship and decorative appeal.
