French Portico Clock is a distinctive mantel clock designed with a classical architectural case resembling a portico, supported by columns beneath a decorative pediment. Popular during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, these elegant clocks often combine marble, gilt bronze and ormolu with precision French movements.
