Notably, these sconces remain in their completely original, untouched state, having never been drilled or altered for electricity. This rare state of preservation maintains the integrity of the casting and the rich, authentic golden patina developed over nearly three centuries. Their symmetrical, architectural form makes them an ideal choice for flanking a large-scale mirror or a fireplace in a traditional library or dining room.
Good antique condition, consistent with age and use. Solid brass with a warm patina developed over centuries. Completely original and never drilled or altered for electricity. Designed for candle use and retains all original components. Each sconce is structurally sound, with no repairs, restorations, or replacements noted. Surface wear, minor scratches, and small casting imperfections consistent with 18th-century workmanship. Attractive aged brass finish with natural oxidation and patina, contributing to its antique character. The finish has not been polished or artificially enhanced.
