Aventurine glass, also known as goldstone glass, is a decorative glass distinguished by the presence of tiny metallic crystals suspended within the glass, creating a rich sparkling effect. First developed by Venetian glassmakers during the seventeenth century, aventurine glass became highly prized for luxury decorative objects, vases, paperweights, lighting and ornamental pieces. Its shimmering appearance and technical complexity made it one of the finest achievements of traditional glassmaking.
