A Basket Table is a decorative occasional table incorporating a woven basket beneath the tabletop for storing magazines, sewing materials, newspapers or household items. Popular during the Victorian and Edwardian periods, basket tables were often crafted from mahogany, walnut or oak with wicker or cane baskets suspended below. Combining practicality with elegant design, they remain popular as occasional furniture in both traditional and contemporary homes.
