Brass Polishing

Brass Polishing is the process of cleaning and brightening brass surfaces to remove tarnish and oxidation. While polished brass may appear attractive, many antique brass objects have developed a desirable natural patina over decades or centuries. Excessive polishing can remove this historic surface and reduce both authenticity and collector value. In most cases, antique brass should be cleaned gently and only polished where historically appropriate or functionally necessary.
