C.W.S. Cabinet Makers refers to the furniture manufacturing division of the Co-operative Wholesale Society (C.W.S.), established during the nineteenth century to produce high-quality furniture and household furnishings for members of the Co-operative Movement. Their workshops manufactured a wide range of domestic furniture, often combining solid construction with practical Victorian and Edwardian design. Original C.W.S. furniture is increasingly appreciated for its quality craftsmanship, historical significance and association with Britain\'s social and industrial history.
