A Ceiling Rose is a decorative plaster or timber architectural feature positioned around the ceiling light fitting, traditionally concealing wiring while providing an elegant transition between the ceiling and suspended lighting. Popular throughout the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods, ceiling roses frequently incorporate acanthus leaves, floral motifs and classical ornament. They remain an important element in period interiors.
