A Chamberstick is a portable candlestick fitted with a broad circular tray and carrying handle, originally designed for carrying a candle safely between rooms or to bed. Commonly produced in brass, silver, pewter and ceramic, chambersticks became widespread during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Many examples also incorporate a snuffer holder for extinguishing the candle.
