A Cigarette Box is a decorative container designed for storing cigarettes while protecting them from damage and moisture. Popular throughout the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, antique cigarette boxes were crafted from silver, silver plate, brass, wood, leather and enamel, often featuring cedar-lined interiors or engraved monograms. Today they are collected as fine examples of decorative craftsmanship and can also be repurposed for storing small personal items.
