Hepplewhite

Hepplewhite refers to the elegant late eighteenth-century furniture style associated with the English designer George Hepplewhite (d.1786). Characterised by graceful proportions, delicate inlay, tapered legs and distinctive shield-back chairs, the Hepplewhite style embraces the refined principles of Neoclassicism. It remains one of the most influential and recognisable styles of Georgian furniture.
