Avignon Faience is a form of French tin-glazed earthenware produced in and around the historic city of Avignon from the seventeenth century onwards. Distinguished by its finely painted decoration, Avignon faience commonly features floral sprays, birds, landscapes and traditional Provençal motifs in vibrant colours. Highly regarded for its craftsmanship and regional character, antique examples remain popular with collectors of French ceramics and decorative arts.
