A Bell Pull is a decorative handle or cord originally used to operate a mechanical servant bell system within country houses and grand residences. Before the introduction of electric bells, pulling the handle activated a system of wires connected to bells located in the servants\' quarters. Antique bell pulls were commonly crafted from brass, bronze, porcelain, carved wood or cast iron and are now sought after as decorative architectural antiques and period interior features.
