Chenille

Chenille is a soft woven fabric distinguished by its velvety pile and luxurious texture. The name derives from the French word for *caterpillar*, reflecting the fabric\'s fuzzy appearance. Popular from the nineteenth century onwards, chenille has been widely used for upholstery, curtains, cushions and decorative furnishings. Antique chenille fabrics are admired for their comfort, durability and rich tactile qualities.
