A Chest of Drawers is a cabinet consisting of a series of horizontal drawers stacked vertically for storing clothing and household items. First developed during the late seventeenth century, chests of drawers became one of the defining pieces of Georgian, Regency and Victorian furniture. Antique examples are admired for their elegant proportions, fine veneers, dovetail construction and exceptional cabinetmaking.
