Gable is the triangular upper section of a wall formed where two sloping roof surfaces meet. A defining feature of many historic buildings, gables appear in architectural styles ranging from medieval and Tudor to Georgian and Victorian, often incorporating decorative stonework, timber framing or ornamental finials.
