A Bouillotte Lamp is a French table lamp originally designed to illuminate the popular eighteenth-century card game \'Bouillotte\'. Characterised by a circular base, multiple candle arms and an adjustable painted metal shade, the design allowed the light to be directed onto the playing table while shielding players\' eyes. Antique Bouillotte lamps became iconic examples of French Empire design and continue to be admired for their elegance and functionality.
