A Bracket is a projecting support designed to carry weight while also serving a decorative purpose. Antique brackets are commonly found supporting shelves, cornices, balconies, clocks and architectural features, and may be crafted from carved wood, cast iron, bronze or stone. Decorative brackets often incorporate scrollwork, foliage or classical ornament reflecting the architectural style of the period.
