A Chinese Screen is a folding or freestanding screen traditionally used to divide rooms, provide privacy or create decorative focal points within an interior. Antique Chinese screens are commonly constructed from hardwood and decorated with lacquer, hand-painted panels, carved wood, silk embroidery or mother-of-pearl inlay. Their striking appearance makes them popular statement pieces in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
