Queen Anne style is a distinctive furniture style that flourished in Britain between approximately 1702 and 1714 during the reign of Queen Anne, continuing in popularity for several decades afterwards. It is characterised by graceful proportions, cabriole legs, restrained ornament, walnut veneers and elegant curved lines. Queen Anne furniture represents the transition from the heavier Baroque forms of the seventeenth century to the lighter elegance of the Georgian period.
